This hankie was probably produced as part of a set. They were sold in shallow boxes, often with floral designs, three at a time. It would be a more modern hankie than some of the others. The embroidery is done by machine, not hand.
This was given to me by my friends, Steve and Andrea. It belonged to Steve’s mother and it is a real beauty. It’s a vintage hankie, with this delicate embroidery of flowers made from French knots. Many of these are only decorated in one corner. This one has embroidery in all four corners, each in different colors. It’s beautifully done and so sweet. I’m grateful to have it. Perfectly lovely!.
This little hankie features different sizes of flowers that form an “H” and a design that reminds me of a garden fence.
